Has anyone here dealt with orchids.com? My son placed an order for me for Christmas and I still havn't got it . It was supposed to be sent
2 day air then they called him and said they could not do that but would overnight it for 10.00 more so he did that. It was supposed to be here Friday...still waiting. I didn't know who he had ordered from or I would have called them and he was in Roatan so didn't know there was a problem. What do you think the chances are that they will be OK when they get here? Any one want to place any bets? Lol
I have never placed an order with them so just wondering about their reputation. Thanks....Jean

They're hit of miss. And it's insulting they charged your son another ten for overnight when they seem to have dropped the ball. I'm unsure where you are as I'm using an app to read this but bad weather is hitting a lot of the country so I wouldn't be surprised if they show up in bad shape. I've ordered from them a few times and again it's hit of miss with them. Some plants have been fantastic others I had to call and ask and then demand a refund. In the end they made everything ok by my account but it sounds like you'll have to make a call to them.

As Pilot said, they are hit and miss. I do not order from them any more.

Sadly, I concur with everything said. Except the "hit" part. I've only had two "misses," then moved on. The upside is not out any $, just time.

I've bought some good orchids from them but I've found that they're often slow to ship the orders. It's not worth the extra money to pay for overnight shipping because the problem isn't with the shipping company, the problem is with the vendor taking sometimes up to two weeks to ship the order. I still buy from them occasionally.

If the plants do arrive alive I would recommend having them virus tested.

This is unfortunate feedback for a vendor with good e-commerce technology. On a regular basis, I get email from them showing off beautiful plants and announcing sales. I haven't ordered any plants from them because 1) I can acquire the same plant from someone else in expensively, and 2) they have too many disclaimers such as "the flower is a sample, because this is a seedling, results may vary".

Your input does add a third reason not to buy from them. I hope somebody in that company gets this message.

My experience is similar to those above. It's possible that the delay is, in part, due to all the weather issues in the middle of the country. I've been reading about FedEx and UPS delays across the board.

what Carrie says about transportation.......

I have found them very helpful in plant/bloom selection - they have always provided me with my specs regarding phals ( btw - blooms DO vary if they are seedling grown. Its only mericlone blooms that don't. ) However on 2 occasions I had to advise them either the name of the plant listed was incorrect or the grex name wasn't updated.
The plants I received from them have been very well-packed and healthy. I would buy from them again if they had what I wanted, by that I mean they do stock plants other vendors don't.

My friend bought some orchids from them, a couple were "hits" but there were some pretty bad "misses." One plant had its leaves broken like someone stepped on it (and the broken leaves weren't due to the packing/shipping). Another plant had no roots. I personally have not ordered from them, but from what I've heard, I am steering clear of them.
