AUGH NEVER AGAIN!
you can see the pictures of my Cymbidium or what is currently left of it!!! I ordered from orchid prints on ebay. American shipper. NEVER AGAIN! had a very high rating....
The orchid was sent in a large ups box not packed inside it was sloshed around. By the time I got the Cym the box was crunched. I had a fear what I would find inside......boy it was bad and I new it before I unpotted it.
I have no ideas what kind of *potting media* it was in but not good!!!
One of the bulbs looked rotted pulled it out of the pot and the roots were almost all rotted...and I mean soggy black mushy roots. Not salvageable at all. It now has 2 1/2 dead roots. I will be attempting to save it and pray I can. To see the pictures check the oncidium boards.
Help may day Cymbidium in need. If you would like to see what happened after my cleaning it out and off..
Again its called Orchid Prints on ebay stay away!

imho you should be wary of criticising a vendor in a public forum until you have contacted them and they have had an opportunity to set things right. It could be that the post office is responsible - I don't know either way, but just be wary.....

it happens more often than you think. you have the right to send it back and file a complaint. its going to cost you money and ebay and paypal still gets paid. we have had this conversation before about ebay. Dont use ebay to buy orchids please. That cures that problem instantly.

Totally agree, Kawamoto is ALWAYS absolutely perfect, healthy, and amazingly paced orchid, I ordered from them probably over 10 times, never ever disappointed. Plus, any question you have, he always helps and answer, consolidate always shipping, and I heard from people that have visited their nursery that it is amazing - my MUST DO when once in Hawaii :-)

Well, ebay is a hit and miss. I've received great plants from ebay, but occasionally something goes wrong. Once, a seller stuffed a 20" plant into a 10" box so almost all the leaves were bent and broken, and then he had the nerve to say that there was no way those leaves could've been broken in shipping and implied I broke them myself (even after I showed him pictures). Thank goodness most ebay sellers aren't like that.
Sometimes things to get damaged in the mail, and a good seller will make it right. Just be sure to give the seller a chance to fix things before giving bad feedback or opening a complaint.
There are great sellers on ebay with a proven track record, so it is safer to buy from them.

this seller had a 100% positive feed back that was why I was so shocked to see the plant in such bad shape not in a proper sized box or even wrapped, it was in a much to big box with out being wrapped.

I am so sorry to hear what happened. It is always very disappointing when the orchids don't arrive in good condition. I would just call them. By talking to them, you might just discover that they are the nicest people and are as upset as you are at what has happened. Some crazy situation, beyond their control, might have occurred.

Yes I will most likely call now after the holiday. I had to let my anger cool a bit so I don't do something I might regret.
