Caution regarding Ebay vendor

For those of us who peruse ebay, I'd like to give a heads-up to all the Phal lovers. Please be aware the seller is using other peoples pics for all their auctions. While some are correct, others are not.

From Sapphire Dragon orchids pic is of Phal. Tying Shin Blue Jay

From phals.net pic is of Penang Girl

All the other pics appear to be the correct crosses,but taken from or by someone other than the seller.

Bid with caution as you may not get the kind of blooms your expecting.

I have nothing against this seller as I bought from them before I knew their listings were not showing true pics. And while I was somewhat happy with what bloomed they were not as expected. Plants appeared healthy and ok size.

WOW! Thanks for the heads-up!
I am always loyal to my tags....and I will fight tooth and nail to defend it....that is why I will now only buy online from reputable orchid growers who you can run after.... this proves that there are insane fly by night crooks selling beautiful orchids online.

Bud the tags on these orchids will be right, it's just the pics their using to represent them, some are wrong and all have been used without permission.

Take this one for instance. This is from our own CK YEO and taken from his Flicker account. I knew the minute I saw it, it wasn't a pic from the vendor or even their vendor. The pic is correct for the cross (and for CK's plant alone) but not everyone can hope to get something as nice as these are seedlings not clones. All the auctions are for seedlings. Nowhere does the seller advise you of that fact. Very misleading !

So it is possible that you might get something similar, could be even better ( doubtful) but in all likelyhood they will not . Seller just used what they thought might be the best example they could find to represent what they thought the blooms will look like.

So if you feel you have to bid/buy do so with caution is all I'm saying. What you see is not what you get!

Thanks Judi! This is very much appreciated... I pretty much only buy from reputable nurseries now, but there are times when I do buy from eBay... Tho I've learned the names of the ppl I want to buy from (for the most part), but thank you!
