Orchid Trail in Morrisville, NC is AWESOME!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had a great experience ordering two plants from the Orchid Trail in Morrisville, NC. I used to live in Raleigh, NC and would visit quite often, but it's been four years. I called there looking for a specific plant; they didn't have that plant, but Paul told me who he thought may have it.
I ended up ordering two plants off of "my list"; their last Vandopsis lissochiloides and an Isabelia virginalis. They offered to ship the vandopsis bare root to make shipping more affordable, but I requested that it be left in the basket as I didn't want to cause the plant to much stress. Paul was kind enough to look at multiple options for the most economical shipping method.
Both plants are happy and healthy with good roots and no pest! And my experience was so pleasant; from speaking with John, the owner, who offered to take pictures of the vandopsis to speaking with Paul about what they had in stock so I could add an additional plant to my order.
All around this was the most positive experience I have had ordering orchids in years.

They were pretty cool when I was dealing with them. I like their nursery.

Thanks for the review. My husband and I are planning to visit family in Atlanta next month, and are talking about taking some extra time to go up into the Blue Ridge. He doesn't know it yet, but if we can, I've been thinking of a jog east to Orchid Trail- they have some plants listed I'm quite interested in, and I've been talking myself out of ordering for a while. Good to know they're a quality dealer.

Lol!!! I hope your husband likes orchids to "jog east"; my husband likes them, but when I'm in an orchid greenhouse he starts to walk in circles and "shark me" because I'm taking too long!!
I do have to say, if it's still open to the public, the owner's collection is awesome (or it was 4 years ago)!
I hope you have a fun and safe trip!!

Hey thanks for the info. I am planning a trip to NC next month to see my son. May have to add an extra day so I can go visit there. Of course that could mean trouble. Better leave some space in the car and take a little extra cash.

They are super friendly! And last time I was there (4 years ago) there was a ton to look at! When I lived in Raleigh, I would go there on a regular basis.
On a side note: I got married in the Outer Banks! It was the best!

I've spent many a happy hour at the Orchid Trail. Their collection greenhouse is a wonderland. Paul is a wealth of information and always willing to extend himself on behalf of customers. I've gotten a lot of fine plants and excellent advice from this business.
@ Island Girl or any others who may visit: message me! I'd love to meet you there and ooh and aah over orchids with another fan!

I almost went this weekend.
I like the place and it's only a 20 minute drive, give or take. Nice folks for sure.
