Waldor Orchids rave review
I recently placed an order with Waldor Orchids. They are truly top notch! All e-mail questions were answered promptly. They order shipped and arrived quickly. The plants were well wrapped, healthy and the best Cattleya orchids I have seen in quite some time. There aren't any that I need to worry about or post photos on OB and ask if they look okay. The plants have fabulous roots, great looking leaves, new leads, and no signs of disease or insects. I took pictures of the plump (more like fat) pseudobulbs they way they arrived and after I removed the papery sarongs. They all look great! No shriveled pseudobulbs or bent over dehydrated leaves. This is how Cattleya orchids should all look. Needless to say I am extremely pleased and will be a loyal customer. I highly recommend them

Thanks, Terri. I agree, makes me regret some purchases even more. I can't wait to see them bloom. With those pseudobulbs they should put on quite a show

Waldors nursery is a fantastic place to visit (they're located about 45 minutes away from me) - greenhouse after greenhouse with beautiful plants.
Glad to hear you love their stuff! What exactly did you order?

An old and great organization!
When I was a kid, I lived around the corner from them - well before I knew anything about orchids.
A piece of trivia for you: the classic potting medium consisting of bark, charcoal, and perlite was known as "Off Mix", and was invented by Walter Off, the founder of Waldor.

Hi Ray,
Thanks for the trivia. From the looks of the pot I think they add chc to it now too.
My plants from you and them I have been the best I have ever purchased
