Yes, its strange. One of our members was out there last fall when there was a big orchid show-maybe even the COC? He contacted this guy and brought in some orchid leaves for virus testing as one page on his website says they do all kinds of virus testing and I think flasking etc. etc. He was also going to pick up the above mentioned Zygo I wanted and a Cattleya that was on his price list at the time for me. He hadn't managed to get any of the plants in and didn't want our member to go on site so met him somewhere to get the leaf samples. They were never tested in the end.

I think he had big dreams and rented all those greenhouses and then it didn't pan out. His price lists and plants were many pages long and really decent prices for bloom size. Now he has 1 or 2 pages on E-Bay and that's it.

I realize this is an old thread but am considering getting a plant from this fellow on ebay. besides lack of communication did anyone have any problems with the plants themselves?

I've seen other posts on OB since then saying they are happy with his plants and he uses heat packs in cold weather. We tried as a society and he never came thru. Strange. You would think he wants the business. But maybe he only has a few plants at any one time.

Well as an update i regret very much dealing with this place. 4 frozen orchids, assurances they could be replaced come spring and now when i try to contact them nothing.... Looks like im out the cost of the plants + shipping. despite voicing concerns about shipping in the winter and being assured they would be fine and purchasing the guaranteed method...Have tried to contact via ebay and the website with no response.. very very sad indeed... Not at all happy.

So sorry to hear about your bad experience with this vendor! And thanks for sharing so we all know to stay away from this one.
This is really TOO BAD! We do need reliable vendors in Canada!
