What plants did you order David? I'm eyeing Bulbophyllum masdevalliaceum from SLO. Anyone growing one of these want to chime in with whether I should try this one as my first Bulbophyllum?

Beth, from SLO I ordered:
Haraella retrocalla
Angraecum leonis 1895
Encyclia Green Hornet (n4.0)
Encyclia prismatocarpum
Anacheilium garciana
Baptistonia echinata
I can't speak to the Bulbos, no experience at all with them. But the plants I got from them were great. I will be ordering from them again very soon.

Thanks for the update David. You got a lot of plants that are new to me. Angcm. leonis I know and love. Enc. Green Hornet too. the rest I'm going to look up, because I've never hear of them. Glad you got good plants. Now I have to figure out whether to respect the budget (ha!) or go ahead and order a couple specials from SLO. Anyone care to wager which way it'll end up going? ;-)

I finally was able to make photos of the SLO & Smiley's plants I got this week. So here goes... The den Chrysotoxum, Chysis bractescens, and the Chilochista parishii 'smiley'ccm/aos are from Smiley, who gave me very good deals on these plants.

Yes SLO is great. They are different as they ship lots of divisions as dry bare root. Nothing wrong with that. It's a nice way to get a lot of plants for a good price. I've been happy with mine though they took a little longer to establish (my conditions).

I'd decided that I wanted a var. carnea for a Cattleya/Laelia purpurata. Been looking for a reasonable one if possible, and found them on SLO Orchid's list- on sale for the month of June, to boot! Ordered Tuesday night, and got it today (Friday). Decent looking young plant, shipped bareroot (fine by me, I always repot). Roots are good, it's plump and ready to go. It's just about the same size as the grandis I got last year and hopefully will be ready to start blooming next year. Now all I need is lobata and I'll have all 5 I know of in this group. (sadly my tenebrosa had color break last year, so it's off in the side yard in purgatory now and will need replacing. It's hard finding a nice dark one though, most vendors seem to have aureas now, and I prefer them medium to dark. Guess that's why it was at a flea market.)
Also received my end of a trade with the ebay vendor ozarkgirl101- very nice little division as described, growing well, and packed well/ shipped quickly. I'd buy from her based on this trade.

Ordering itself was easy and I do not think they charge you for shipping. I have posted pictures of plants I received in another thread. I would say the quality was marginal and a bit pricey for the size.
The thing I have an issue with communication. I shot an email one time. No response. I called them, and Rudy asked me to send an email to which he never responded. So he asked me to send a reminder, but does not respond?
