Another Hausermann win!
Hey everyone - Happy Holidays!
Just wanted to post that I recently ordered from Hausermann's again. The plant was C. Marjorie Hausermann 'York'; I paid $36.95 for a bloom size. The plant arrived, looking as always like it was just taken off the bench. Their packaging is always first rate. First, they held the plant until a break in the weather, notified me with tracking number, and then shipped asap. The box had thick newspaper stapled all around the interior and the plant itself was well insulated with newspaper, shredded paper and taped in very well. It is in a 8 inch plastic pot, has 18 stems, new growth eyes everywhere and will be a welcome addition to the collection.
If you are not aware of this old favorite, google it and check out the images - such a great color, shape and fragrance!
Here are some pics!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Steve

Nice one Steve. Great benefit to living in the US - so many orchid nurseries to choose from.
Love to see it when flowering.

Wow, that does look good! Now to talk my partner into allowing "one more orchid" for the 30th time.

I've found that it works best when you say, "well, I think Im actually going to get two because you save $15 in shipping charges rather than just buying one now and one later."
Works great!

Hate to admit --- it has worked for me several times! Isn't it a shame that we have to resort to such low-down, deceitful, shameless underhandedness in order to satisfy our cravings? How do you explain to a non-orchid lover that you MUST have just one more. It really seems to belittle me to have to resort to "but, babe, I am going to eventually get the second one, but I can save sooo much on shipping if I buy both now; AND with three, I get a fourth at half-price - it just makes sense, doesn't it." - Any more my partner just rolls his eyes and says 'Whatever' about the time that I am presenting my "reasoning"; a person really could feel bad about beating someone down so bad, if a person allowed themselves to think about it -- but if it's Jim or an orchid - Sorry Jim!

Well, he asked what I want for Xmas, and I said an orchid. So, I think he's just about resigned to adding another at least!
