Your experience with one of RF's salespeople doesn't reflect very well on a generally very well-regarded orchid grower, but maybe it's one of those your mileage may vary sorts of things.

I have a V. Sansai Blue 'Acker's Pride' FCC/AOS I purchased online from them in spike last November. It not only bloomed beautifully within a couple weeks, but subsequently has rebloomed on successive new spikes TWICE since then. The most recent spike just finally died off a couple weeks ago and I'm likely to have it spike again within the next few weeks, judging by its pace so far. Then again, as a plant cultivar with an FCC, I guess its excellent performance is to be expected no matter who I bought it from.
