Orchids Vendors in Canada
Dear All,
Once more, it was evident during the latest Members Projects that having a list of nurseries and vendors for each major region would be beneficial for everybody. We have indeed a short list of nurseries for which we know that can be trusted, but this is far for complete.
Therefore, I decided to propose some threads (probably a forum admin or moderator can stick them to the beginning of this section of the forum!?)
The rules are simple:
- Use one thread per region!
- Add ONLY vendors for which you have good experience buying from them, or the people you know have godo experience. NOTE: at least 2 or 3 orders should have been done from each vendor!
- If you add a new vendor, please explain briefly your experience with it.
- Good vendors do not necessarily need to be cheap! This would depend on many factors, and the list is not intended ONLY for the projects!
- PLEASE add the link to the website!
Please, DO NOT use this thread for vendors review. We have a whole section of the forum for that.
ONLY add vendors with a brief feedback from your side!!

Well, I am sure that Cloud's Orchids is going to get the most and best reviews, so I'll start it off. Cloud's has a VERY large selection of a lot of different stuff, for extremely cheap. The plants are always well grown, and usually larger than the size they were listed as. Because they are all grown from flask, there is no struggle to adapt to new environments, and they don't coddle them either with special pesticides or fertilizers, so they really make the transition from greenhouse to house well. The prices are very good too, and the only complaint is that they don't have a whole lot of blooming sized plants.

Thanks, but please, let's keep this simple. Do not use this thread for big vendors review. There is a whole section of the forum for that. The goal of this thread is to summarize a list of vendors in each region, so that it is easy for everybody to spot the vendors.
Of course, if you add a new vendor, include a brief review comment on why you recommend it.

Sooorrry!!! It sounded like you were simply trying to get a bunch of reviews from the various vendors in Canada gathered in one thread.

I would add Kingfisher Orchids.
Although they mostly sell phal hybrids, but there are always several species in the list. I had a good experience and got nice and healthy plants.
There is no website, but catalogue can be requested via email : kingfisherorchids@gmail.com

I agree with Orchideya as far as Kingfisher is concerned and would like to add Hawaiian Botanicals: good plants, reasonably priced, excellent packaging and shipping.

The most incredible customer service I have ever experienced with any company ever, the most incredible communication I've ever had with any vendor and I cannot say enough good things about them. Ask them anything, they will answer. I even arranged a trade for a division of one of mine for a plant from their carologue. Absolutely amazing, VERY good prices, ships during the winter with heat packs. Purchased from eBay and their site. I am hesitant to shop anywhere else for fear of being disappointed.
Zygopetalum.com
This company will be getting back into nepenthes and other carnivorous plants in a few months. Carrying up to 50 different species and hybrids of nepenthes and other Canadian native and exotic carnivorous plants. They may also be selling LIVE SPHAG!!!
