Don't panic
Mine arrived in perfect condition
Thanks for your post Steven...that's the reason everything gets repotted as soon as it gets home

My plants arrived today. The good news is the Sederia looks good though I haven't repotted yet. Will do that on Saturday. No sign of mealies. The bad news is the Beallara has scale. My experience with fighting scale is it has always been a losing battle. Both plants are in quarantine in different rooms until I decide what my plan of action will be. I'm very disappointed.

Hi Terri...
you should contact them about the Beallara. I'd repot the Sederia first in case you find a problem there too
We all work way too hard for our money and to get something that is below our expectations should not be taken lightly.
About the scale, I've had success by spraying the affected areas with Listerine (moistens, loosens and cleans the area) and then using a dental scraper to remove the little buggers
Please let us know what the vendor has to say if you decide to contact them...good luck

I emailed them last night. Haven't heard back yet. I think Michael the owner is out of the country. The plant was on sale, only $17.50, so I'm not out that much money. I was just surpised that any greenhouse would send out a plant with scale clearly visible. A newbie may have stuck that plant in with the rest of their collection and had a real mess on their hands.
I don't want to hassle with sending it back. It would have to go FedEx now that the weather is cooler, and I'm sure I'd have to pay for return shipping.
I've heard several suggestions for getting rid of scale. A systemic pesticide was recommended in conjunction with horticulture oil spray. I have Neem oil. Will that work on scale?

I believe that neem will work. It should coat and suffocate the scale.
I would spray down both plants with neem and repot as soon as you possibly can.
I just lost another plant to the mealies I got from OLO. I thought I got them off of it but I guess not. Now the watch is on again to make sure they are not spreading.

My Dendrobium kingianum I bought from Los Osos, I just found out, has aphids. I only saw maybe 10 of them. I was wondering why the flowers were closing back up... I thought maybe I wasn't giving it the correct environment to bloom properly. However, upon closer inspection, it's definitely aphids, maybe 5 big ones and 5 small ones. Doesn't seem to be too bad. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it.
Just a heads up, as they still seem to be having some issues controlling their pest populations!

I picked up a couple Zygo's from them at a show. They were already boxed up for me because I had asked for them beforehand. Never again!
When I got home I found they were full of mealy bugs (yuck!)
I mean I know that they say that every orchid nursery has a certain level of bugs that they just find "acceptable". But gosh, you would think that if you are bringing stuff to a show it would be clean.
Best foot forward right? I guess not
