I just bought a Bulb. pulchrum (strangularium) from Chris147's for sale add here. I'm attaching a pix of what it looked like when I unpotted it. It fell apart into 3 pieces, no live roots, and hadn't acclimated to the pot obviously. I'm also attaching a pix of a Bulb. medusae he's trying to sell and you can tell by the pix that it's more than half dead and not doing well. He's refused refunding and I don't think his lame excuse that he has to get rid of them is a valid reason to sell these plants. I definitely discourage anyone from buying any of his plants !

His ad is still on here; FS Bulbos and more FOR SALE!!!

Hi Merlyn,

While I don't condone sending bad plants, those bulbos probably will do okay. I received some divisions that were like that and I strapped them down tight to some driftwood with some good moss on them. I put them right under some T8's and give them good watering on my special schedule and they took off like gangbusters after a few months. The trick was to make sure the roots were strapped tight.

See the photo. The 2 in the middle left are species and they were literally just like yours.

I expect this year will be the first blooming from the division.

Good luck.

Shadytrake is probably right about the fact that your Bulbo will live and eventually grow... but the main issue is that you don't sell something like this as a "plant", but as backbulbs, and backbulbs prices should be very low if not given for free!!! They will take a long time before producing a nice plant because you should have at least 3 healthy pseudobulbs on a rhizome to make a good division, and it is not even the case in what Merlyn ended up getting!
You are right Merlyn to have disclosed this, I cannot find this guy's ad today (wanted to checked what is said about this piece of rotten garbage he calls B. medusae , so maybe he removed it...
