Wow, guess I should have researched this guy before I bid on about 6 little ones on ebay. I'd rather pay $1.49 for a vanda from him though that I might not do so well with, versus paying $40 for one from Hausermann's.

I purchased 2 for 1 vandas from him a few months ago. Be prepared for them to be seedling sized and the roots may need a little soaking to perk up. Otherwise mine were nice and healthy. Both are even sending up a new leaf! I agree with you about the price. Even though they are small it is still a nice way to purchase an orchid you don't have much experience with for cheap. When you factor in the shipping and handling you still are getting them for super cheap. I bought 2 for 1 phals with my vandas and received combined shipping so they were even cheaper. Again, the phals are very small, seedling sized. So don't feel bad, you will probably make out just fine. You just may have to baby them a bit.

Well after half-neglecting my orchids for the first few years I had them, I'm now at the point where I'm looking for a challenge. I hate to see any orchid die, but it's a lot more painful when you've spent a ton of $ on it. I had to rebuild my collection, as I lost a good 10-12 in the past year because the growing conditions in my new place weren't so great and it took me way too long to notice. I'm buying some that are mature and/or blooming but for the most part, I'm going with seedlings.

I totally know what you mean! I just killed a phal the other day and while I was so sad for my 'chid I also saw $$ signs! I spent $30 on that thing! Thats a lot of money to me so I'm always looking for deals.

Since so many have commented on this thread I thought I would go ahead and put in my 1 1/2 cents (my opinion may not be worth 2 cents). Mr. Asia is a real mixed bag. I have purchased some plants from him that were represented as NBS. As others have mentioned, they were removed from the pot and the roots allowed to dry prior to shipment (he claims that he has a problem with fungus unless he does that). Well, the plants may well have been NBS had it not taken a year or so to nurse them back into reasonable health. Then, like an idiot, I ordered some compots from him that were represented as being ready for 2-3 inch pots. Just like the larger plants, they had been taken out of the compot, the roots allowed to dry and then shipped. Needless to say, they arrived like crispy critters with the roots completely dessicated and of a size that may have been ready to remove from FLASKS in a few months (in my opinion). The real problem I have with Bill is that he is seemingly unwilling to accept any responsibility for any problems with the plants. It is interesting to go through his feedback and look at the customers who left negative feedback. In every case that I saw, he left a withering criticism of the customer making any problem entirely their fault. I am far from being the sharpest knife in the drawer but there are just too many reputable vendors out there to be frustrated by the likes of Bill. I know that I will never order from him again. By the way, I did not leave negative feedback (knowing what the result would be) but sent him an email stating my opinion of his business ethics and that I was leaving NO feedback at all.

Oh, if I have searched the board and read this post. I guess digging this up is not a bad idea since that store is still there...I ordered a 10 S-plant package and 2 phals. The plants arrived like mummies...They are severely dehydrated and flattened for convenience of shipping. They were shipped bare root and wrapped in shredded newspaper which is a good moisture aborbent! Anyway, since I transplant them into S/H immediately, most plants survived, but many are still struggling. And another thing, their 10 pkant pack really didn't have many plants you wanted.
