I might be going to the Plant House in Omaha, NE on December 30th. Has anyone been there before? Here's the website: The Plant House - Orchids and Top Quality Tropicals It sounds pretty good. If I go I'll let you know what it is like.

Also, do you know where I can buy a light meter (not online)? Would Walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot have one?

Wow, thanks for the heads up on the plant house. I'll have to be stopping in there very soon! I have seen a cheap light meter at lowes for around $10 I think. This is a good time of the year to find some cheap phals at lowes as well. I saw one yesterday still in bloom marked down to $2 because the pot was broke. I've also got quite a few phals for around that price because they were out of bloom. Welcome to the board.

I went to the Plant House and it was awesome! They had all sorts of palms, hoyas, African violets, terrarium plants and lots and lots of orchids! They had lots of white phals with huge blooms. They had nice big paphs, oncidiums, cymbidium, maxillaria, cattleyas, dendrobiums and many more. If you go the orchids they show are not there only ones, They have some in bud or not blooming upstairs. They can also order just about anything for you. Of course, I couldn't hep but buy something. I got a Paph. Magical Venusin bud from there upstairs selection. They wrap the orchids really well. If you are ever in or around Omaha you HAVE to check it out, it is pretty neat. It is the best place in Nebraska to buy orchids.

Thanks for the info, I'm usually in Omaha a couple of times a year.

What! They have an upstairs? I went there today and didn't know that. Suprised I didn't bump into ya. They do have a nice selection of plants. Thanks for the heads up. All I left with was a little tillandsia plant that I was wanting but I definitely plan on going back.
