If you paid by paypal and you can't agree nor do you think you can live with the plant you received, file a complaint with ebay.

amendment to my last post:
I've bought more headaches off of ebay then they were worth. Two stand out - in sheath L. purpurata and C. warneri both from the same vendor, both expensive, both came down with black rot within a month. Was it me? Was it him? I let it go...but never again. Unless it is something I can't find anywhere else and can't live without...I've X'd out Ebay purchases.

Yes, Thumper, I am considering the threat to file a case with PayPal. That usually gets the desired results. I don't like to do it but when push comes to shove.....
I still haven't told him what I want him to do, but that is next then if that does not get results, I will file the case with PayPal.

The issue is with the vendor you bought it from, not his supplier.

There have been times when I have resold mislabeled plants, and I try to get the true identity and tell all buyers, and even then offer a full refund. What goes on between me and my supplier is irrelevant to the final consumer.

Challenge it through PayPal. It might adjust the vendor's attitude to the better.

I would file a complaint with paypal to get your money back.

SBOE sent me a very expensive Laelia that was supposed to be an alba. When it opened, well, it wasn't an alba.

They told me to keep the Laelia they sent me, and mailed me the right plant. AT NO COST to me. I offered to ship the plant back but they said, "NO, keep it, it's our mistake."

ETA: I have a feeling I know who you are talking about, and if I'm right, I'm never buying from him again.

I"ve gotten some good plants off Ebay, especially Laelias you can't find anywhere else. But you have to be careful from whom you purchase.

I emailed him on Monday as to my wishes. He has not replied as yet. I'll give him a day or two more then I will contact PayPal. I'll let you all know the final results.

Thanks again for your comments and interest.

Remember Paypal has a time limit to file your complaint. I found out that the hard way.

Beverly.

You did not get what you wanted, so stop absorbing all of the angst yourself. You owe the vendor nothing, and he owes you.

Challenge the payment with PayPal immediately, documenting all of the action you have taken and the responses (or lack thereof).

Thanks Ray, that is where I am headed after his last missive to me. I told him I wanted the plant I paid for and he claims I did get it. Only problem is that I based my buying of the plant on the picture of the bloom it was supposed to give. Well, it didn't produce a bloom anything like the picture. So, that is that. Hello PayPal....

It just might be a case of a plagiarized photo, too.
