Default Another order from Smiley's Orchids

No offense to my show chair, but upon reviewing the list of the show vendors, I did not think that I would get any 'decent' Vandas to add my collection. So, I just contacted Smiley and I got two of them.

V. insignis x V. Mimi Palmer (a picture from her FB )
Aeridvanda Pothisan

I was surprised that the Aeridvanda was much larger than the other.

The bug still bites eh ?
The insignis x mimi palmer is a lovely color and has insignis written all over it, very nice.
The Aeridovanda PHOTISAN is a very pretty orchid. Very nice yellow, lots of flowers similar to V. denisoniana. Can't find it here as yet.

Ahhhh.

The insignis hybrid came with two spikes and a tiny teeny baby. The Photisan is nearly 2 feet ( 24cm) long w/o roots.

I literally ran out of the room. I cannot add any more.

I have made a suggestion in your Vanda house post.

The reason, for years I've tried to grow a lot of different orchids. All I've done is fill the house with stuff that doesn't flower or grow properly, answer to problem, give that stuff the big flick out the door.

I agree, Roy. Prior to moving into this new house 8 years ago, I did so well with Paphs & Phrags. The growing condition has changed since then. Those HID lights keep the room temps higher than what they like.

I guess I will sell the Phrags and other non-vandas at the show. The left-over will go to the society auction.
