Gold Country Orchids
I'm thinking about ordering some plants from them after seeing some of the beauties featured in this month's AOS bullletin. Has anyone had any experience with ordering from them?

Same experience. The awarded part of the flower I am naming for my mom was awarded by them.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION - although not fatal, but when it takes more than a few days (weeks) to clear........

I have also found their site under construction every time I would try it . I did purchase some great mini-catt's once years ago from them at NY show.

Gold Country Orchids OUTSTANDING ORCHIDS
Alan Koch owner of Gold Country is the best grower around I feel. He's a great guy and knows so much about orchids. Anyone looking for great AWARD QUALITY MINIATURES, COMPACT CATTLEYAS AND PHALAENOPSIS orchids Gold Country a try. His website isn't working. But call and ask for his plant list of offerings. Prices are also good.

I purchased a Cattleya dormaniana and a Phal lueddemanniana 'Woodstream'. My friend bought a Bulbo. This happened in early Spring.
I was IMPRESSED on receipt!
My C. dormanniana has grown well and I expect it to flower this year--it has a rapidly developing sheath anyway.
If Koch has it, buy it!

Alan the owner of Gold Country Orchids is a great grower. He's also a orchid judge. I've ordered many orchids from him and loved everyone. If you can call him first and see if you can talk to him about the plants that you're looking for before you place the order.

CattleyaMan, your advice is good except that Koch is often busy--unable to take calls!

I have bought from GC at shows, and found the plants to be exceptionally healthy, and good sized for the price.
