Thinking of ordering some from Carolina Orchids, anyone with experience with their orchids?

Yes, I've been there numerous times and return home with $1000-2000 worth every time. Tom is the most knowledgeable bulbo source available. A fine guy, totally honest, but a little testy sometimes.

My bulbos, from Carolina Orchids were delivered yesterday and I am very impressed with their packing and the quality of the plants. They were sent by post office, but they were packed so well they couldn't move. They are in 6 inch pots, one has 18 bulbs, the other has seven spikes. Just WOW! You can be sure I'll be buying more. Tom was great to talk with, he really knows his stuff. A great company and prices were very reasonable, and shipping prices great! You'll be seeing pics soon.

Just a side comment on shipping. A friend of mine was telling me about a show he watched on US shippers. They put sensors in packages and sent them across the US to diferent locations. They could tell how many times and from what heights they were dropped or flipped. UPS averaged over 5 drops per package! USPS had .5 drops per package but had more flips. I included have always thought a shipping company was better than the postal service, but I am changing my opinion. Ok, off my soap box now.

The nice part were these were wrapped so you could turn them over and they wouldn't have moved. Soil was covered and taped into place. Just a super job. I heard that report on drops too. I believe it too.
