Question Looking for Kawamoto Orchids update

Not too long ago there was a thread about possible virused plants being sold by Kawamoto Orchids.

I'm concerned about this because I'm getting ready to place a large order with them and was wondering if anyone has heard anything more about the situation. If I remember right, the original virus concern was with a dendrobium and an oncidium. I'm looking to buy some of their mini-catt clones, if that makes a difference.

Has anyone else had any very recent experiences--good or bad--with Kawamoto that they would like to share? Any updated information would be really helpful.

Thanks,

C.J.

I bought many orchids from Reid. Most in the Catt. alliance. I've never had a bad experience. The orchids are well grown and clean.
Honestly, you can pick up a plant that is virused just about anywhere. I bought a few at a very large outside sale at a local university. They came from a know grower that was setup next to the local orchid society and voila, mild flower breaking. I tossed them. He later told me he bought them in Arcadia for resale.

I have bought many plants, mostly catt, from Reid and have been VERY satisfied. All plants look great and many have had sheaths and some will buds about to open. Great to do business with.

I just received two cattleya from them yesterday, it was my first time buying from them. I received some VERY nice looking plants and will buy from them again, but I will also see them at the Redland Orchid show in May.
