Their weirdest orchid I have came from Andy's.
Cynorkis purpurascens. I have not gotten it to flower yet over the past 2-3 years...and I thought I killed it several times ^.^ Right now the leaves are bright and happy! |

After all the years & years of orders, Harry & Andy have NEVER called me after I received my plant orders! WHAT do I need to do to get personalized service? |
I guess you to tell them that you are special too. ha ha Maybe this is new thing they do.

I love their selection, and the fact that you can call them for stuff not on their website, but the plants leave something to be desired. All of my problem orchids are from Andy's. :( |
The only issue I have with Andy's is trying to figure out why it takes them 1-Month to ship your plant. From the time you order the orchids, they tell you it will take 4-weeks to get that order to you. The only thing I can figure out is they are extremely busy !

NeoNJ, your experience with Andy's is very unusual...I have been buying plants from Andy's for years. The plants normally will be shipped the following week after the order has been received. During the show season, they are busy and they may hold the order for a week or two for the most.
Once in a great while, you may receive a mislabeled plant but they will take care of that problem. Their customer service is A+ |

No, this is not Unusual. This is the Truth ! I ordered from Andy's last week, and was given a Ship date AFTER March 16, 2011. I ordered (1) Plant. This is the 2nd time I ordered from Andy's and have had a SHIP DATE that was in WEEKS and not days. |
It may very well be that they are delaying shipping on account of the cold weather. I ask vendors to do that since shippers are notoriously unreliable, as far as leaving plants in the cold and heat, and in very cold weather even they may not be able to prevent the plants from freezing.

What did you order? I am surprised you are willing to pay that much of shipping charge for a single plant. It got to be a great species that you can't wait to get you hands on. BTW, Andy's Orchids is going to be at Longwood Gardens show on March 25-27. NJ is not that far, so you can come hand-pick your plants. Andy normally will bring your pre-ordered plants to the show without charging the normal shipping and handling, but you may have to pay the PA sale tax. Longwood will charge entrance fee also. |
