Hausermann order
On July 1, I placed an order with Orchids by Hausermann. I ordered an Onc. Sharry Baby "Sweet Fragrance" that is in bud. I received a confirmation e-mail after ordering it which I then realized that I accidentally got my shipping and billing addresses backwards. (I'm having it shipped to my place of work because I live in an apartment complex and the delivery service will not leave packages if you are not home, and I work the hours that they drop off packages). After noticing this, I immediately attempted to call them, however they were closed and they're machine does not take messages. So, I chose to e-mail them at both e-mail addresses that they have on their website. I have not received any e-mail response from them about correcting my shipping address, or anything stating that my order has been shipped. I have also been checking my bank account, and they have not yet charged me for my order. I'm looking for feedback on how long it typically takes for them to process an order. I believe I'm more paranoid about this for 2 reasons. One being that I have never ordered a plant online before. Two being that I haven't ordered ANYTHING online for at least a year and a half due to previous credit card fraud (which I only have ever ordered online for 8 things at most, and all being reputable websites). Needless to say, I'm also anxious to get my 'chid! I've been begging my fiance to let me order this for a while.. And I finally gave in. Any information would be great! (And I do understand that it could have been delayed due to the holiday.) Thanks a bunch!

I have ordered from them before. I ordered on a Wednesday and they shipped the following Tuesday which is not uncommon. After receiving them, I had some issues which they responded to slowly, but satisfactorily; however, their responses did get dumped in my spam folder and I had to recover them.

i suspect your order might be held back due to the current weather situation.
But, if you're really that concerned why not just call back today? Hausermann's is a huge operation and they pay people to help deal with customer service issues. So take advantage of it

I would also continue calling them. I recently ordered from a single plant from them, was a little wary of their billing system, but everything went through without a problem - so I didn't have to contact them in any way. At the very least, seems like their credit card system is secure!
I also received the orchid in great condition, well packaged, etc.

I just checked my bank account and my card was charged today, so I proceeded to contact them, and they did get my e-mail regarding the address mix up. My only problem with contacting them is that they are an hour behind me and I typically work the hours that they are open, luckily I got off early today and was able to contact them. I have heard plenty of great things about this greenhouse which is why I chose them over any of the other companies (plus, you can't beat that it's in bud right now). I'll keep you updated on how the rest of my experience is after my plant arrives. So far I'm pleased with everything. Thanks!

I've just recieved my orchid! I'm at work now so I am unable to photograph it. It arrived 2 days after they had billed me for it (fast delivery) and it was packaged very well. I only have 2 questions. This is my first Oncidium. The leaves have many little black/brown dots on it. I'm reading that this is normal for Sharry Baby's. Is this correct? Also, about 4 large leaves have been cut about half way down. Do you think that this was for shipping reasons? I'm not quite sure why they would cut the leaves. I'll post pictures later. Otherwise, it's a very large, healthy looking plant!!

It looks like a very healthy plant. Yes, the black spots are pretty common on many oncidium types and normally cause no problems. The trimmed leaves probably were torn or had other damage. Hausermann's has acres of greenhouses and every plant can't get individual tender loving care. It would be common before shipping to trim away unsightly damaged leaves. This doesn't hurt the plant.
