kunwaw on Ebay
Has anyone purchased from Ebay seller kunwaw? I was browsing through recently and noticed the name, and that he is listed from Thailand, as well. I had never bought from him (or from that country), so I have been wondering if there may have been any positive or negative transactions with him.
I would appreciate any replys,
Vicki

I personally would avoid importing from another country. If you do, make sure all the paperwork is in order (extra cost is charged). If the paperwork is not in order, the plants can be confiscated when they enter the United States. Also, shipping takes much longer and the plants can suffer. I have heard of people trying to bypass getting the phytosanitary certificate and import permits, but then had the government show up on their doorstep.

This doesn't sound like something I would feel comfortable being part of.
Thanks for your reply (and advice, of course)

help
Thank you. Now that I understand better, I certainly wouldn't put myself in that position. By the way, where is kawomoto from? Since you say his/her orchids are good, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again...

Are you purchasing seed or actual plants? I just ordered seeds, and I have never had a problem getting seed from Thailand nor China. Although I have never bought actual plants.

Since I've learned more, I don't plan to purchase anything from out of country. First of all, I've only been trying my hand at growing orchids two years and I have no experience with seed. At this point, I'd be afraid to try growing them.....I'm sure I would fail drastically. Secondly, I am now very leary of buying a plant from out of country. I don't want to take the chance of running into problems.
Thanks very much for your help,
Vicki

Understandable. I hope you find what you're looking for! I buy seed from outside of the US, but I buy my plants locally. (Although I have seed help here in the board) What are you looking for? I am flasking seeds, maybe I have or will have what you're interested in.
