Talking Visit to Smiley's

Well I finally made it to Smiley's and "Loved her Greenhouse". If anybody is in the Orlando area for vacation or passing through go to Clermont to visit her. You need to contact Smiley since this is also her home with husband PK and make an appointment. You will be glad you did. Here are a couple pictures. (PK..thank you so much) I went with my "Wish List" and wish I could have bought more...next time!!

I forgot to post a picture of Ren. Prince Akihito. The flowers were so different from anything I have I just had to get it. Here also is a picture of the Star Cactus

Nice!

One day we'll have to set up a meeting there...the girls and I are always looking for day-trip plans
We're going down to Phelps Orchid Farm for the first time today...YAY!

I love the stuff you got...the one marked #2 (Star Cactus)...is in fact what's known as a Lifesaver plant...Huernia zebrina...and it grows like CRAZY!
You'll be giving away pieces of that one in no time

While I'm here...how's your daughter doing?

Hi Suzanne,

Actually as I'm writing this my granddaughter is sitting on my lap (4 yrs old) helping me and her mama is doing very well vacationing in Key West. Thanks for thinking of us.

I already have a friend wanting a piece of the cactus and another that will probably get a piece for her cactus collection.

Lorraine, Very nice plants you got. I have a few Vandas from Smiley and they are healthy plants.

Have you taken any of the greenhouse pictures? If so, I'd love to see them.

Hi Naoki

Here are the only pictures. I was running late and so excited about what I was buying and looking at all the beautiful orchids. Smiley has so many vandas I thought I was in heaven. Just wish there was more room for them here so I got the mini sized one.

Lorraine, thank you so much for posting the pictures. I guess Smiley grows other orchids besides Vandas.

Smiley has a wonderful selection of species, dens, phals, catts, paphs, onc. etc. I could have spent HOURS there just looking at everything. I plan on visiting her when I take my granddaughter back to Disney next year for sure. I'll be saving up for that trip. Anybody visiting the area GO, GO, GO.
