Question Hang-A-Pot?!?

Has anyone ever tried these?

Hang-A-Pot / The Hidden Hanger.

I'm trying to set up a mobile station for my Catts to get lots of light outside and these look fantastic.

Decorating Ideas . Hang-A-Pot: The Hidden Hanger . Hang flowers and plants anywhere!

I'm going to order a set. If anyone out there has tried them, I sure would like to know if they work.

Hi Melissa,
I have one of the tall wooden towers...and for a while complained about the poor design. If you want to take full advantage and use each notch to hang a plant, there's no place to put a saucer. When I spoke to one of the designers at a show (not sure who or what company it was), she explained that the lower notches can be used for saucers. For me, with it being on the lanai, a place to catch water is important. If you plan on having it where the dripping water won't be a concern, then I say YAY!!! It's really nice!

*Took a closer look and I realize that these are the clips that are being sold and that tower is just a display....but you see how there's no place for saucers?

Hiya Sue,

Thanks for the feedback. I don't need a drip tray as I will be placing my s/h pots inside the terra cotta and they are outside in the back yard. I just wanted something quick and easy that I don't have to beg my hubby to build for me.

This is something that I can actually build myself.

It looks like they will work for me. I'm giving them a go.

Melissa,

I have those. They work great. They are just a plastic piece that you can screw onto any wood surface (like a fence or post). I have them on the wood posts inside my shade house to take advantage of little "wasted" spots. It only works for clay pots with the traditional lip on them. The lip slides up into a slot on the plastic piece and then the weight of the pot holds it in place. Works better than pot rings because it will support any size pot. Those guys are at all the shows. I got some at Redlands about 3 years ago and the plastic is still holding up well. No signs of cracking or degrading from the sun. A really useful product!

These look interesting. I may have to give them a shot when I get back to the States. Thanks Melissa.

Thumbs up Update

I got my Hang-A-Pot clips and hubby built me a "wall" out of some dumpster diver pallets that we recovered.

I finally got some nice weather yesterday to try them out.

If you are using any kind of substantial wood, (like oak pallets), then DON'T use the screws they provide. They are cheap and the heads stripped.

I ended up drilling pilot holes and using galvanized decking or sheetrock screws. They work much better.

True to their promise, they do hold a 10" clay pot.

One thing though, you can't use "new" type clay pots with narrow rims/lips. You need to use the old style with the thick rim/lip otherwise they won't stay in the clip.

I give them 1 and 3/4 thumbs up. 1/4 thumb down for providing cheap screws.

Here is a picture of the wall from my iPhone. I like it!!
