After I finished looking the plant over I contacted David that day to let him know about its poor condition and ask for advice with rehabbing it. I still haven't heard anything back, which indicates to me that he doesn't really care whether I'm satisfied or not. But enough griping...

Thanks for the tip on watering and the well wishes for my new plant! I sure hope I can bring this one back to life, it's a neat variety of a great species.

I feel compelled to toss in my own two cents about my experiences with this seller. I have purchased from him three times via eBay; once was fine, the other two times not so fine. Most recently was an Encyclia bracteata (also shipped from Houston); I did not get the plant pictured in the auction, as stated, but instead received something with only one viable pseudobulb, several brown and dying leaves, and no roots at all. After some heavy-duty TLC it's sprouting a root, but I think it's going to be some time before I can safely say the plant is on the road to recovery. I left feedback stating that buyers should specifically ask to see whether they're getting the plant that they actually bid on. No response from the seller.

Nat, I might have him confused with someone else.

I would suggest sending another response and insisting he respond or receive negative feedback. Not actually give it to him, but put the ball in his court.

Hope you nodosa gives you years of enjoyment.

Yes, I had a not-so great experience also. Bought some rupicolous laelias, one was mislabeled and the other two had no root system to speak of. I won't be buying from him again.
