Bedford Orchids?
Has anyone ever tried this vendor. Their plants seem reasonably priced, and they have flasks! I want to try them so bad!

They have good stuff. The proprietor will talk your ear off if you let him (and only half off if you don't...). Nice guy though.

This is a little off topic, but I noticed that you are an AOS judge. I am considering becoming a student judge. The closest judging center is about a 4 hour plane ride, so that is what it deterring me from becoming one. I understand that it is all voluntary, but if there was funding available for flights to the judging center, I would be all over it.

Unfortunately there is no funding available for anything, as far as I know. Your distance from the judging center probably prohibits your participation, which really sucks, I know. Once a month judging is bad enough, but you would also be expected to attend several shows a year (6 or so is a good minimum). That is a lot of money out of your pocket. Tax deductable though, at least here in the states.

Hi Matthew, I know this is a little late but it was recommended to me that I check out Bedfords reputation before I bought alot from Howard. I have just bought a violecia (sapphire doll AM/AOS X Harvey), Penang Girl '(Ching Ruey') & as a gift, he included a seedling Bedford Bellisimo (Penang Girl 'Bedford' x bellina 'Wizard'). The plants arrived in 2 days after being shipped from the province of Quecbec about 1/2 way across Canada to Alberta, in good condition. I think the violeica's leaves are a bit light green (I don't know alot about the violeicas yet, learning them on the "run". I agree, Howard is a bit of a talker but he means well and he seems pretty easy to do business with. You sould look his website over, its pretty interesting.
regards, mary

Hi Terri, thanks, I thought so, but sometimes you really don't know if its supposed to be that way or its a temporary result of the plants being shipped. This plant is really quite a nice one.
Happy Orchids!

I have many flasks and seedlings from Howard @ Bedford. They have always been very good.
