I can't wait to see these babies bloom some day! Good luck with them Sue! You can do it! Especially if I can....lol. I also thought I would mention that I have read that it is not recommended for flasks to be shipped for the exact reason of them getting mixed around in the agar. I too experienced the same thing....I thought they would be ok and waited a few days only to watch them die. Lesson learned! Next time I only will buy flasks from Troy Meyers, and he will deflask them before shipping, or I will deflask the second I get them!
Keep us posted on how they do! Merry Christmas!

Hi silla,
I ended the dispute with PayPal because I finally received the replacement flask from you...but I will not remove the negative feedback here on OB.
People need to be aware of what happened and then they can make their own decisions as to whether they want to buy from you or not.
The delivery times are just way too long and the plants/flasks/packages arrive damaged or very close to it.

The replacement plants/flask all look very nice but taht's only because I immediately deflasked them and cleaned them up
Lesson learned, indeed!

Monsoon Flora also sends excellent compots and flasks. They even deflasked one for me that I bought off the flask list by mistake. All are growing vigorously!
Susanne-Hope all your new babies do OK!

I am going back to my Buy American mantra
I wish people all around the world the best of luck in all they do but seeing as I am an American, I prefer to support the businesses here.

I would like to add something to this post. There is no way, in my opinion, that the plants INSIDE a flask can be protected from the bumps that they will recieve in the postal system. The flask itself can be protected with good wrapping (as was the case here) but there is too much free space inside a flask and the plants will move unless they are so large that they are crammed against the walls of the flask and hold themselves in position.
If anyone decides to order a flask then they will have to bear this in mind and be prepared to get a mix of plants and agar when they arrive. I think that it is unreasonable to expect them not to get mixed up.
I have bought several flasks through the post and they have all been shaken when they arrived.

I agree
It's happened to me twice now :
I just think that the flask should be well-wrapped (which it was) but then that well-wrapped flask should be placed inside a more protective box with foam to lower the chances of major damage a bit
As I was unwrapping my flask, I could feel the inner layer was very damp meaning the seal was broken and it was slowly leaking. If it hadn't taken a direct hit somewhere along the way in it's very long trip, that may not have happened but we'll never know for sure.

I agree on supporting our vendors!! It is a shame so many excellent nurseries have closed. If we don't help our vendors-we could be left with the big box stores as our only fix for our addiction! The big box stores do not have the selection or quality I can get from our vendors. Diane

Hi Sue we have nothing against for your decision here. But was puzzled that negative given wasn't of any transaction done here on OB. It's only between us. So my request for removing this is valid. We have already do you justice here and such occurrences are not desirable and not frequent, out of 100 transaction, only 1 or 2 as such happen. There is nothing left for anyone to see or judge for something like this. We are confident for our plants and flasks and welcome any body whom have interest to order from us. We can be your orchid supplier. Let us know thanks
