Hi Maria,
It looks like Clay Trout pottery is a ceramics hobbyist who is trying to earn a little on the side. Up here in Massachusetts, hobby potters are all over the place.
I'm developing a pot fetish myself. I saw some clay mounts made to look like they were branches and was intrigued but they are out of business
Let me know if you find another source.
Oh and your letter is good.

Did they ever respond to any of your communications? If not, then I would have to say spend your money elsewhere.

I agree they did poorly but if I was that happy in the end I would try once more ....hand made custom pottery is going to be unique and if I was that pleased with the product I would simply expect it to take a little longer and and if I was truly that upset The next time I would go elsewhere.

I bought a piece of cranberry glass last year at the glass blowers shop at Nigra falls and It is the only place in North america that even makes cranberry glass sooooo I put up with the two day wait while there for my peice to be schedualed to be blown and went back to watch it being made was I hnhappy I had to wait two days ....yes , would I go back If I wanted another .....YES.

Oh and they were stuck up and snooty old farts but they got the market and Its great stuff.

Only you can decide if the great product out weighs the PITA factor.

True.
I also thought, wow those are really nice pots these people have.
I looked around online for bonsai pots but they were so expensive and I was worried they'd get here in pieces. The ones you ordered for orchids were really beautiful. Id love to see a picture of it please.

Thanks guys!! After much internal debate, I think I'm going to order some more. The pot IS absolutely gorgeous. I'm a stickler for "perfection" in custom stuff that I buy, and I have yet to find one flaw in the piece. It's just perfect. That's the only word I can use. I'm seldom impressed but in this instance I am impressed--not with their customer service though.

Sigh. The pot is about the size of my hand and the black clay is just so tactile. I have been touching this little pot for 2 days now and I have fallen in love with it.

So, I decided that the workmanship in this case far outweighs the cost of my aggravation. I suppose I should just pre-order like 10 or 12 of them BEFORE I need them so that I don't have this problem.

Honestly, I don't need them now because I already potted the miniature I intended for this pot- and I don't want to disrupt the plant again. So, I suppose I can build up a supply of her stuff. Sigh.

Thanks everyone.

Swamper, I'll post a pic....but I'll do you one better--are you going to be at the Orchid sale next weekend? If you are I will take it there so you can see what I'm talking about. But, you have to promise to give it back. LOLOLOLOL

Oh, and re: bonsai pots--try vic at erinbonsai.com. He just sent me my 20 pound orchid pot and literally spent 1/2 hour unpacking the thing. Again, perfect.
