Default Santa Barbara Orchid Estate

Has anyone purchased orchids from Santa Barbara Orchid Estate? What has your experience been? Did you get the orchids you requested? Was the plant(s) in good condition?

Thanks!

I have. Yes, I got just what I ordered. Plants were in fine condition - just a bit pricey. Packing was great, shipping was fast. I'd order from them again if they had something I really wanted (which the do).

Thanks, RoyalOrchids, they have some Dendrobiums that I have been looking for. . .which will probably be my next orchid extravaganza once I get some lights up. I wanted to make sure I was going to work with a reputable company.

They're pretty well known in the orchid world. They do a bit of hybridzing (esp. with Laelias) and have some named crosses and clones. I've never ordered Dendrobiums from them, but I'd imagine they grow them well.

Here's a thought, start a new thread in the vendor feeback or Dendrobium alliance forum. Just ask for suggestions for the best Dend. vendor - you may find a few gems.

I have purchased Dens. from them and they were great. I have not purchased thru the mail though, twice a year they sponser the Sant Barbara international orchid festival and I go to their nursery to make my purchases.
They have great selection but as previously stated are a little pricey.

They're good. Some items are expensive. Others are fair. Then there are the few that are great deals. Depends on what you're getting.

I've only bought through their nursery.

The only Dendrobium I've gotten from them was Den antennatum. They were nice.

The only thing that's stopping me from buying from them is the fact that they hold orders to Florida for a month.
