Default Swampstick

I broke down and ordered 3 of there small Swampstick - Terracotta Hanging Mounts. For those not familiar with what these are check out SwampStick Ceramic Orchid Mount - Home.

I ordered then in the middle of the week and they arrived the following week on Thurdays well packed and in good condition.

So now its time to see what these things can do, I rinsed them out and filled them up and let them sit overnight to soak up some water. This morning there was only about a tablespoon of water that leached out the bottom, a very good start. So I refilled them with water at 10 am, 3 hours later the water level has dropped about 1/4".

I wrapped a dry paper towel around the outside of the stick to test a few things. The stick feels wet to the touch but no water is visible on my hand.

So far I'm liking the leaching rate of these. I'll keep ya posted on my experiences.

I will not have time to mount anything to these for a few days, so if anyone wants me to run an easy test let me know and I'll try to test it out.

Good to know. I like the concept, just never tried it. I'll stay tuned.

I'll be very interested to hear what you think about them too.

I've wanted to try it, but I have been waiting for someone to try it out. I think it would be beneficial since I grow indoors and its difficult for me to water all my plants. Keep us posted please!

11 Hours since I filled it up and the water level has dropped 1 1/4".

Also the paper tower is very slightly moist.

There is no more leaching out of the base of the stick either.

So far these are doing everything I wanted them too. A few more things to test out before I pick a test subject .

Thought I'd get a measurement before heading off to work, at the 20 hours mark its 1 7/8" down with no water buildup at the base anymore.
