I'd say let Larry kow, but if it was only 1 scale I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. Now if it is thoroughly infested, then I'd want a replacement. Feedback at THAT point would be dependant on how the situation was resolved.

I just bought some from him and thought they were on the small side. The description was 2 in pots, but there's a big difference between "practically outgrowing" a 2 in pot and "just put in" a 2 in pot, and they were very much on the young side. They're cheap prices, but not a good value, especially since there are other ebayers with much bigger plants for only a few bucks more(or even cheaper!). I didn't give him a bad rating, because the plants were as described, and he is a quick shipper, but I don't know that I'd buy from him again.

Cloudswinger, I'm with you...
I tell other's that you get what you pay for but... this company had some species plants I wanted and the prices was SOOO attractive that I just had to take the plunge...
The plants were healthy but small. They had to be in the 2" to 2-1/2" pots they came in for only a short time. I got a long wait for blooms...

D&S Mabel, I hope the plants you bought turn out to be 'what you bought'. I used the buy it now feature from Larry's and a few months later, when it blossomed, discovered that what I bought wasn't what it was supposed to be.
I wrote explaining the problem, his reply was 'cut off the roots of the plant' and send it back for a refund.
#1. I didn't want a refund, just the plant that I bought.
#2. I pay postage to return a dead plant and get a refund that wouldn't cover the twice paid postage.
#3. I have to kill a perfectly good and blossoming plant, which I just can't do.
I have since discovered that the newsletter he sends out is from a site that is a known "phishing" site!
I'd say beware of this vendor. He's no longer on my buy from list.

It hasn't bloomed yet, so I will let you know exactly what kind of flower should come out of this mystery plant.
What is more odd is that Larry's Orchids is not the only vendor selling a plant under this strange designation...Carmela Orchids from Hawaii was selling it last year. I wonder Lc. Mini Purple v. coerulea "Sato" is actually a different plant from Lc. Mini Purple "Sato."
I'm not trying to defend Larry's Orchids...I have already bought at least two orchids from him that turned out to be different from the description when it bloomed.

All the plants I bought are species so it should be fairly easy to tell if they are the right plants when they finally bloom... which, by their current sizes, will be sometime down the road - probably 2-3 seasons more. All I can say today is that the foliage "looks" right.
Based on a couple other Ebay experiences, I should have learned to quit those late night browsings that usually lead to spur-of-the-moment, by the heart and not the head, purchases.
As I said in an earlier post, the plants are healthy and growing at least...

After reading this discussion, I'm glad I didn't win very many plants from him. I tend to try to limit the number of plants from a new vendor until I've had good plants from them.

I've bought from larry's Orchids before, and will never buy from him again. I got an Onc species from him and when it came it was a sad sad plant, almost as if it was shoved into a pot and mailed off. Also, it was clearly virused. I even secluded the plant and observed it for a while, and the new growth was blotched and streaked everywhere. I even got it tested. In my opinion, this vendor should not be trusted. Sorry to say, but true.
I volunteer for orchid nurseries and I would never put a plant like the ones he sells for sale. SAD!!!

Why do you really care. I find my photos everywhere on the web. Doesn't bother me. Just enables more viewers to see my plants; both cacti and orchids.
