Hey,

Found this site tonight ( beautyorchids.com) and they have some good prices on some species phals I have been looking for. Can't find any reviews of these guys anywhere. What do you all think?

Interesting site with some nice plants/flasks and prices ($200. min. order). I don't know about importing.........aren't special certificates needed on this end?

Hi Neil

I would email and ask them about the import/export deal. It could run into LOTS of $$$ to order from another country. The best way to do that is to find a U.S. show that they will be attending and they can bring the plant(s) you want and ship from there.

I have spots in front of my eyes from the flashing Content column on that site!

Thanks Susanne, I knew I had read somewhere about import problems. I do, however, know someone with the correct licenses and we might be able to work with him. Would there be enough interest from other members for me to get involved with all of this? We could combine orders, have them shipped to me and I could then re-ship to members.........just a thought, will let you guys "go with it". I'd be willing to try to co-ordinate it.

Hey,
I assumed it was a state side site but you know what they say about assuming. Thanks for the advice. Sent them an email but I am sure you all are correct. Most of my collection has come from grocery store's discount table. Ebay has recently become my shopping grounds. Nice vendors and quality orchids. Getting into the miniatures now (mostly phals and aerangis), and I don't want to wait for a listing to pop up on ebay. I will let everyone know what I hear from them. Thanks again for the advice.

I noticed that the web site hasn't been up-dated in awhile.......not a good sign.
