Well two nozzles can create a fine enough mist in a 55 gallon tank to fill it with, well, a fine mist that lingers in the air for a few minutes. One nozzle seems to be able to throw out water for about 12 inches away before it gets too fine to detect with you hand.

I'll second that. Keep in mind this is not intended to replace normal watering, however, depending on number of nozzles, you may not need to water mounted orchids additionally. I mist for 5 seconds every 3 hours during day, then system goes off overnight. I dunk the mounts in fertilizer solution once a week.

My Cischwenfia pusillia gets so wet with these misters that I never water the plant. It never dries out too much either. But never too wet to get rotted. It found its sweet spot by pure serendipity! My other mounts also don't need to get watered. And I apply frog poop for fertilizer.

My observations entirely! I don't have frogs and use pure water (RO) so want to provide best growth conditions.

And how often do you mist it? Mine stay pretty wet in sphagnum and I was considering some other way to let roots dry a bit. Getting some rot too.

Right now, it gets doused for a minute a day. Early in the morning hours. Thats all.
