As a resident of the PNW, I've always been a bit jealous of my friends in SoCal and Florida and their ability to casually pick up at cattleya at Lowes. Last week I saw Better Gro listed a couple orchids on Amazon and I finally got my chance (sort of).

Luckily, they had Rlc Volcano Jewel 'Volcano Queen' listed, right up my alley (waxy, fragrant, bifoliate). It was marked down to $22 and since I have prime shipping was free. I also had a $12 credit so it only cost me $10 delivered.

Yes, I may have been on an orchid buying moratorium, but I have to say, I feel totally vindicated in my decision after seeing this beauty (4" pot, previously bloomed):

I scour a few Lowe's every time I visit family in Louisiana. They sometimes have some really good stuff - mericlones and seedlings!
