I have got a response from EOoM via email. Looks like an honest mistake on their part.

Thank you everyone for vouching for the vendor and helping to set this thing straight in my head and in communications with the vendor.

To moderators: please delete this post if find it appropriate. Do not really want any trouble for the vendor.

I am terrified at the moment.
I have got my order from ‘Exotic Orchids of Maui’ and there are precisely two orchids out of 7 that I have ordered. The rest is random stuff. I mainly ordered from them because of the cattleyas they advertise, and I did not get any of them. None!
Is that possible? I thought they are ok shop. But are they?

This is beyond real issue I am having with the ‘exotic Orchids of Maui”. I cannot grow what they have sent me. The conditions I can provide will not be good for these types of orchids. They will not survive and that is a tragedy for me.

Did anyone have such a dreadful experience with this shop? What do I do now?

Because I ordered a completely different types.

For example instead of cattleya i have got phalaenopsys.
Instead of another cattleya i have got encyclia. Yet one more cattleya was replaced with Epidendrum.

Is it how business in orchid growers world is done nowerdays?

Have you contacted them? Maybe they mixed up your order with someone else’s. I haven’t ordered from them, but other vendors have made small mistakes and then made them right.

I left a message. They do not pick up the phone.

Honestly, when I opened the box it looked not like a small mistake, it looked like someone else’s order entirely. And the paper is of my order, but the content is not.

And yes, I know that other vendors are good about their orders. I have worked with many and always was happy with the services.

I have read in this forum about this shop and there were no red flags.

No. Contact the vendor with a copy of your order and pictures of what you received. See what they say.

Yes, it sounds as though they mixed up your order with somebody else's. They might not use the telephone much. Write them an E-mail. Give them a list of what orchids you have.

Cattleya, Epdendrum and Encyclia have very similar care. Don't worry too much about them now. Give general Cattleya care. Just keep the Phalaenopsis in the shade near a window and it will be fine for now.

Edit: Did you take into account the different time zone in Hawaii?

I am very sorry that you had such an experience. Maybe they hired someone new or someone had a really bad day. I doubt they did this on purpose. I have ordered from Exotic Orchids of Maui in the past but not recently and I had very good experiences with them. Hope you get it resolved quickly!

SOunds like a complete mixup of orders. I have done that from time to time myself.

EOoM has always operated and responded well. I'm sure it'll be resolved.

Do use email if you haven't received phone response. Orchid growers are usually out in the greenhouse, may not have somebody dedicated to the office. Email may have a wider reach. I am sure that they'll get it all rectified. They are very approachable people, so keep trying.
