Orchid Eros
Anyone order from here and, if so, what are your opinions?
Found very few reviews.
Thanks.

I cannot recommend Ben and his plants highly enough! Potting is solid, the bark is good quality. They have been happily growing with me for a year and never skipped a beat! He uses excellent parentage to produce excellent seedlings so we can expect great things.

I love the look of his plants but i couldnt get a hold of him. I sent him message through his website and the listed email address and didnt hear back.
Dont take this as a bad review at all, could just as easily be my fault, or perhaps he is just way too busy.
Hes got some great bifoliates which is my thing so i hope to get an order in at some point!

His plants are great! Plants are very healthy and vigorous, but also very small. It will take some time to grow out to blooming size, so be aware. You can find photos of some of his stud plants on flickr.
He's typically very responsive, but if he's at an orchid show it may take a bit for him to respond.

Thanks for the info. He has 2" and 4" categories on his website but only 2" potted orchids listed. I'm trying to stick with orchids that are in spike/bud, BS or NBS so I'm not sure if I will order anything. If I do, the order will probably be small. He has some interesting items listed and I am tempted.

That's fully understandable! Yes, they are small, but I'm willing to wait on the stuff that he will sell that doesn't usually get sold many other places.

He was at the San Francisco show. So likely a few days before he can respond. He does have outstanding plants, lots of awards on his stud stock, so his crosses will be excellent - but what he's selling would of course be mostly young plants.

I will probably wind up ordering something from him based on the positive responses here. Maybe I'll wait until it warms up a bit.

He will be at the Santa Barbara Orchid Show this weekend if you're able to make the trip.

I want to go to the SB show but I'm not 100% sure. It's a long drive for me but maybe it would be worth it. Never been to the SB show before. I did check out the vendor list and saw Orchid Eros listed. Are you planning on going?
