that approach works too. True that you get a better chance at pick of the litter if you hit the nurseries early. In fact, if you're really an early bird, SBOE opens before the show. SBOE opens at 8 and Cal Orchid at 9, the show opens at 9. So you can get your shopping done at the nurseries, then get to show after the opening-time line has disappeared.
