Chiming in mostly because I only see Krull Smith mentioned once and I consider them on the top tier along with SVO, Andy's, Hauserman, Tarzane, J&L, Big Leaf, Motes, Carmela, and SBOE.
I have ordered a lot recently from Triton Orchids on Etsy and have received great value.
My love/hate relationship with Ecuagenera has already been broadcast on this forum.
Lastly, I will take this opportunity to hate on Norman's/Orchids.com because they sell dying orchids and treat their customers like trash.

Claw, you are right about K-S. They are top shelf but so are their prices. Especially compared to your other equally tiered vendors.

Krull-Smith is top shelf in my opinion. I order from them all the time.

Palmer Orchids in Bradenton, Florida (south of Tampa). They’ll let you take your time and wander around their greenhouses.

I've found Hausermann to have very competitive prices and I consistently receive orchids in good health. I've placed a total of 3 orders from them over time. Sometimes medium can be decomposed or orchids might not be well potted (loose) but generally all orchids received make a quick recovery and adaptation to my environment which speaks to their initial good health. As for insects, I've detected house spiders (not spider mites) and springtails, since these are both beneficial insects it makes me think that they utilize and welcome them to keep pests under control.
They run seasonal sales of old mature Phals used for floral arrangements in which you can get a big Phal for $5-6. I find these excellent guinea pigs for whichever experiment you might want to test out.

I have successfully purchased good orchids from Hausermann and Orchids.com on multiple occasions. What I like about them is fast shipping and delivery times, and plant's size as described.
On Etsy and Ebay I had mixed results, but my favs are BarefootOrchids (Etsy), and RitterOrchids (Etsy).

Oooo…the website you mentioned is a bit of a he-who-must-not-be-named situation. Too many people have had terrible experiences ordering from them and they don’t have the best reputation, but they benefit greatly from their web address. I risked ordering from them once because I’m only a little over an hour away so I could go return things in person if the need arose. Thankfully the need never did.

If you are talking about Orchids.com, yes, I read a lot of bad reviews. But they had some plants I really wanted to add to my collection, so I took the risk. To be fair with them, I received very good plants with fast shipping, so I have to give them credit. The only complaint is that whenever I try to contact them for info or clarification on their listings, they never answer my messages, LOL!

Glad you got plants that Norman just imported or you would have had a different experience. If they don't respond to simple questions, just imagine how they behave if you try to hold them accountable for shipping a plant with no roots. You immediately become the enemy (as opposed to just being ignored and disrespected).

I only ordered the one (healthy and problem-free) phal from them because I had been pining after it after seeing it on their website in mid-2021. It was not listed on the site in late 2021, so I figured I blew my chance. In Jan 2022, I was window shopping their site and noticed it was back, with a list date of the day before, so I ordered it hoping it had spent almost no time under their care. Seems I was correct (or lucky) since it arrived in beautiful condition, and it has grown well and been in perpetual bloom since around March 2022. Even being nearby, I probably won’t order from them again.
