Triton Orchids
I did a search and saw that Triton Orchids had a bad review here from 2 years ago. His Etsy page has mostly positive reviews, so I decided to roll the dice since he has a nice specimen I’ve been wanting.
I ordered and paid Sunday September 25th. It still hasn’t shipped 10 days later.
I actually had a package ship and be received from SWEDEN in the time I’ve been waiting for my orchids to travel 7 hours from the next state over 🤦🏽*♀️.
Update: 5 months later my Paph Ledbaudyanum bloomed and in fact, was not a Paph Lebaudyanum.
I reached out and at first he was apologetic. He offered a partial refund or that I ship the plant back and he ship me the correct one. I said that he needed to send a replacement or refund the full amount. He then got a bit passive aggressive, but ultimately said he would refund my money via PayPal. I sent him the requested PayPal address, he responded that he would promptly send the refund. 2 days later he still has not done so.

Thanks for the heads up. I especially appreciate the reviews on orchidboard about Etsy and eBay sellers

It's hard to wait, but if you do so most of the orchids you want will eventually be available at major orchid nurseries who don't run it as a sideline.

I don't know if Etsy has any rules, I do know that Ebay penalizes sellers who don't ship in a short time (I think like 2 days) . Sometimes if you contact the seller and let them know that you are going to report them to your credit card company and challenge the charge, they shape up. If not, you do have that option.

Triton orchids is a buy-and-resell type of business. One nice thing is that he offers individual plants that originate with companies that otherwise require you to by 20 or more.
If I’m not mistaken, Michael had a medical issue recently that may have delayed him a bit.
I purchased a couple of phrags from him that came in mislabeled. I think they may simply have been switched between the two plants. One - not a kovachii hybrid, but labeled as such - bloomed, making the mistake obvious. The other plant is much larger, so is more likely the kovachii hybrid. He sent me another one, just received from Quintal Farms, as a replacement, so I may now have two.
I did have to bug him a few times on Facebook to ensure he remembered the promise of that replacement, so you might try a similar approach.

I have had great experiences with Triton Orchids. I have placed 4 orders and the plants are twice as big as you would expect for the price. He has always been a great shipper and communicator.
I ordered a Cattleya El Dorado species plant, I received a huge Blc El Dorado, which is confusingly a hybrid that does not have C Eldorado as a parent. He apologized and sent me the species c El Dorado. Now I have both blooming size plants for like $30.

My experiences have been similar to Ray's and others--plants have been healthy and quite large for what you're paying [when compared to other sources], but the labelling can be dodgy [though not as dodgy as certain long-time ebay sellers...]
On your receipt is there a ship by date? There usually is if the seller has stated 'handling' time on the Etsy platform [I don't think I've ever encountered a seller that hasn't...]; if you are outside of that window, you should be able to dispute the purchase with Etsy [they usually contact the seller and it goes through their protocols from there]

According to Etsy, my order is suppose to arrive tomorrow.
Monday afternoon a label was created, but it has not been updated since and still says the postal service is awaiting receipt of the item.
And yet in that time he has still had the time to update his store policies stating he usually ships within 7 days or less and advertising October sales he has going on.

USPS shipping tracking often doesn't work at all. The product shows up on your doorstep when the Web site says something like, "Label created. Expecting shipment from shipper."

Unfortunately that is not the case in this situation.
I submitted a support request for a refund from Etsy, and he responded that sorry, he thought he had sent me a message about the delay. He means to try and get it out this week. 😑
