No luck at all
I don’t know what’s going on with Talbott. I’ve ordered from them three separate times over the course of a couple years and EVERY time my entire order was refunded. The first time I had to ask for a refund because months had gone by without hearing anything or getting any plants.
Most of the stuff was out of stock the last time I checked, but I did manage to find some stuff I really wanted so I ordered it in whatever multiple sizes were available, down to plug size, assuming some would be out of stock but at least one of the sizes might be available. I got nada. The other times the orders were refunded within a couple of days. I also got no explanation any of those three times why everything was refunded. I live in CA so maybe they don’t have nursery certification to ship here, but if that’s the case I would have liked to know/seen it on the site somewhere. I’m pretty patient and I don’t mind waiting for even a couple of months as long as I know something is coming, but communication is key. It doesn’t seem like they really focus on orchids any more but their site doesn’t reflect that. There is obviously some sort of inventory system because things do go out of stock, but I honestly don’t know how people are ordering anything if all their orders are getting cancelled like mine were.
If anyone has any idea what the deal is there, please share. I’m assuming they’re mostly an in-person place and don’t necessarily update their site to reflect their current availability, or maybe they have decided that the site isn’t worth the trouble. It’s too bad because it seems like at one point they had some cool stuff. I wish them the best, I just hope they let people know if we should give up trying to order from them! Lol.
