Default La Canopée Orchidées

Last week while visiting my partner's family in Brittany in France I went to La Canopée with my SIL, an hours drive from where they live.

It's a small nursery but jam packed with plants that all look in excellent health, and the greenhouse is clean and tidy. Most on the greenhouse is off limits to customers, but I spent an hour poking around looking for interesting plants for myself and novice grower SIL.

Since they do Lycaste breeding, I got one of their crosses as my first ever Lycaste. I got Lycaste Oratrix a nice yellow primary hybrid (campbellii x xanthocheila)
Second plant I got was Phrag Sorcerer's Apprentice x wallisii.

And just for fun, some photos of the local beaches only 15min from where my in-laws live. The water is a bit cold, but it's peaceful and the beaches quite empty compared to the more touristic south of France. There are some great snorkeling and diving spots around there.

Lovely! I was in St Malo area, Mont St Michel, and Cancale a couple weeks ago. We went swimming but it was chilly 😅

Thanks for sharing those photos! Seeing that beautiful greenhouse makes me miss the ones we used to have in Michigan that are gone now. The beach scenes are beautiful!
