I actually prefer anything that's a Florida native or at least common enough that we see them feral everywhere. Subrosa, if it is dim enough with that lamp I do have only 9:54 H:MM of sun at the solstice with several days of less than 10 hours so maybe that will suffice for dormancy needs?

If it's dim enough the plant will lose its leaves and form a hibernaculum for the winter.

So I guess as winter approaches it will lose its leaves like any deciduous plant and just stop growing and sit in a state that could be confused for being dead until some time in spring, and if that doesn't happen due to the light or other reasons it will lose vigor year over year?
