Ordered 4 plants from Hausermann: Zygopetalum triste, Ornithocephalus gladiatus, Phal. Sogo Vivien Leaf's Edge and Tolumnia Topoki red. Pleased with the first three. Although triste had one very wrinkled pseudobulb the rest of the plant looked healthy, there is new growth and the plant is large. Ornithocephalus a bit smaller than I thought it would be but looks OK and Sogo Vivien beautiful foliage and a spike. Looking forward to the flowers.
The Topoki was the one disappointment but I think that the issue occurred during shipping. I would hope they wouldn't send a plant like that. Plant arrived with part of it broken and hanging by a "thread" (root) off the rest of the plant. Sent email and photos to Hausermann and hope they will replace or refund.
Your Tolumnia looks normal. This is how they grow.
If you could see it up close you would see that the roots have broken off from the rest of the plant and that piece is hanging by one root and now that entire piece has broken off from the rest of the plant. I just moved the plant and the piece fell off. Can I stick that piece in some water or perhaps bark/pumice or perlite mixture?

Just tie it tightly on the mount. Use a narrow strip of cloth like old panty host. Face the fan into the mount. This is how Tolumnias grow. They sprout plantlets that break off and root.

Thanks. I used two elastic hair ties. Hope that works at least for now.
