Default First order from SIX-ORCHIDS.de

Hi,
Another first order from a new (to me) vendor.
Angela's great, communication's very nice with her and it was a treat to order from her. Although she has quite a small range (phal species and hybrids), she still had what i desired
The plants arrived super fast and in excellent condition.

My order:
Phalaenopsis fimbriata
Phalaenopsis javanica
Phalaenopsis inscriptiosinensis

Both fimbriata and javanica have rebloomed for me since their arrival in June. The 3rd one's still a seedling and i don't really remember if it had proper roots but ended up in trouble anyway - after a few weeks i've noticed it's not happy in leca and came to find the tips of all its 3 short roots to be rotten. It's in the rescue section now in loose sphagnum moss and has a brand new root so i hope she's gonna be all right now

Overall i'd say i was happy with my order and it's worth checking her page out

so how many new phals is that this year throdien?

hope you do well with them. I find the first winter with phals is the real test, that's when problems first tend to show.

I did have pest issues when I first started with phals so be wary of that. They tend to hide out hidden on new purchases for several months and then take over when the plant starts to rest. So just be on alert to expect to have gotten at least some sort of pest with these orders.

All in all it's 32 and counting!

Thank you so much for your concern I really appreciate it!! It's really nice to know that this community is still full of people looking out for each other! Thank you i'll be alert!
However i'm not new to orchids i'm just bouncing back after a long sad rest. A decade ago i used to have a collection of phal species and hybrids in this setup until i had to move and i couldn't care for them anymore :

I was depressed about it for quite a while as you see but i cannot defy my love for them and had to allow myself to start over..

Welcome back to the orchid world!

To reply to the question you asked in another post, your lobbii is most definitely blooming size.
Like all Phal - and especially mini ones -, it despises low humidity. I keep mine moist all year round, a dry rest period isn't necessary.
It appreciates fairly bright light, more Cattleya levels than typical Phal.

Thx for the kind words and the care tips! Funny i read that i shouldn't water it from November to January but guess it's not that big of a deal. Gonna find a really bright spot for it, lucky for me it's so tiny
