Ordering from Tropical Exotica?

Hello all!

I've been buying some jewel orchids recently, and my search for sellers led me to Tropical Exotica. I've never ordered from them before and don't know anyone who has.

Should I order from them? Is there anything I need to know before making an order?

They appear to be in Singapore, so the proper paperwork will be necessary.

The minimum order is $300 plus shipping, but in my barely-awake state, I couldn’t find prices anywhere.

That's what I later noticed. Probably won't order from them now since I'm not ready to drop $300 at the moment. They have listed an Anoectochilus roxburghii 'alba' that I was interested in getting but that was about it.

If anyone has ordered from Tropical Exotica and wants to share their experiences on this thread please feel free to do so!

Some foreign vendors come to the US for orchid shows which are hosted by the local orchid societies. When these vendors come to the US, it is usually possible to pre-order for pick up at the show and, because they are bringing your orchids, they take care of all the paperwork. To get to the $300 amount, do the pre-order with other people (I have done orders with members from my orchid society).
