Default Talk on fertilizer by Ray Barkalow

I just finished watching a talk on fertilization and supplementation Ray Barkalow gave online to the Desert Valley Orchid Society. It was excellent. I won't be posting notes, since the information is available at his Web site, firstrays.com.

Program chairs for various societies: Ray gives an excellent presentation, and I highly recommend him as a speaker.

i feel this speaker is always pushing his "plants first" agenda...trying to convince growers to give them air and water along with their nutes.....hes a radical!!!! be warned!!!!!!

honestly there is more to learn on Ray's website alone than most Orchid speakers could impart in 5 sessions.

Ray, I was planning to met you at the NC orchid society a week or so ago. sorry I forgot the actual date. I was all excited to drive to ABQ but my daughter in Alabama had brain surgery and asked me to come so I went. Bought her a belated Christmas Present at Lowes, a P Ms Golden Swan and she is putting it in LECA, and a NOID Onc. that is very close to one I am wanting to rebloom. She is putting them in clear plastic, nested pots and I have told her to water by watching the water below the holes in the first pot. New Mexico and Alabama is so different. I am hoping LECA is appropiate for there. I did get all the spag moss off the roots which are very healthy. Any one from hot and humid Alabama using LECA.

Thanks ES. they put a stent in the vein in the back of her head to reduce the cebralspinal fluid pressure that has been causing her severe headaches, and if left untreated could have caused blindness. Said it would take a month to see the headaches to start to decrease. Since her military days, she has had one health issue than another. Had Covid in Jan. Treated with Antibiody therapy.
