Schwerter Orchideenzucht
There's a reason why Schwerter is one of the top European nursery: they're great.
Super fast and responsive, helpful, top notch packaging, affordable plants, large choice, thriving orchids.
Plants are: - Capanemia micromera (not pictured)
- Catasetum pileatum alba
- Phal. gigantea alba "Prince" x gigantea alba "Ta Wei"
- Phal. maculata x honghenensis
- Phal. schilleriana x mannii Black India
- Phalaenopsis Mini Mark
If someone wants a Phal gigantea alba for cheap, it's now or never!

I can't wait to see them in person! My Capanemia is not much to see, I don't blame you for leaving the little blob of leaves and roots out of the photo! (for those reading this, we did a shared order, some of those plants are mine).
I do love the quality of their plants, but dang is the shipping expensive.

The Capanemia is sooo tiny, I didn't want to risk damaging it for a picture!
It's expensive - but to be honest I prefer paying this price and get excellent packaging, rather than saving a few euros and ending up with broken leaves.

the only niggle I have about schwerter is it is sometimes hard to know how big a plant will be ordering online. I have found anything under €10 is a very small flaskling and not worth ordering lol. I've still got some den brymerianum and den harveyanum I ordered from them last year and it was completely my fault for not checking the size but in one year there has hardly been any growth and was not a wise investment so far but out of all of my blooming orchids quite a few are from schwerter, their phals - as long as one isn't getting seedlings - are generally ready to flower which is a nice bonus about ordering from them.

hey all,
just felt like chiming in on schwerter since it’s been quite a few months since our first order, and we have received delivery of 3 shipments from them, a total of about 10 orchids. i have to agree that the plant quality and packing are second to nice, and it seems as tho their plants are hardier and bounce back easier after delivery. we haven’t found any pests in the medium, and prolly could have waited before repotting even.
also, i like that their website has a terrarium orchid section, though i did get 2 terrarium orchids from them that arrived absolutely huge, and the site was sort of misleading on those, but whatever, they live in the windowsill now, and the maxillaria hasn’t stopped blooming since the day we got it. all in all, an awesome online plant store. one day we will get to the store since it’s not so far away....

Hi, i've ordered from them several times, one batch last week (as i'm getting back in the game after a long pause), and quite many others a decade ago. They are consistent, good suppliers, their selection is exquisite, the plants were cheap and fine back then and nowadays too.

Here are some pics of my latest order (in case anybody's still wondering about ordering from them):
(apart from the one on the upper left corner)
Check out the speciosa seedling with 2 plants in the pot!!!
As you can see I was very pleased with them again.
E.g. this tetraspis is just huuuuge! It came with buds and despite repotting it's still carrying on with blooming. It's fair to say that they seem to adapt very well.
Even this little bellina was supposed to be 1 year from blooming but is in fact developing a bud already
I've only had 2 plants that i was not completely satisfied with, the lueddemanniana can be in fact blooming size but definately haven't bloomed yet as it's half the size of the other blooming sized plants, and one of the pricey seedlings had a blackening on the base of the lowest leaves which in fact resulted in the lowest leaf falling. I hope with the treatment i applied i could stop the spreading but they haven't replied to my e-mail about it yet..

Update: they definately replied since, and offered to pay back the money for that seedling so they're also perfect regarding customer service. < Of course i'm fair (a.k.a. the biggest idiot in the world who wouldn't take a chance on a free plant) so i declined in case the plant recoveres - which it seems to do so i'm still happy i get the chance to grow that little beauty >

Their phals are top notch. They have a good variety but non-phals I feel they don't look after too well. Hot growers tend to have cold damage and I have an Angraecum that has not grown in 18 month - nothing.
But the phals make up for it. They are very eager bloomers even before they are blooming size.
But just word of warning I feel one single one did bloom itself to death trying to do this. It looked very young with an immature stem just like yours and it was eager to bloom after which it had no more energy and it was the last thing it did.
I know that doesn't help much. You will either snip it and wonder if I'm chattng rubbish or you will leave it and think I', chatting rubbish or you will leave it and discover the same thing happens. It didn't happen to all and maybe it had another underlyng issue but it seemed like it bloomed and then died shortly after. Mine didn't have good roots so that will have played a big part in it
