any way around the one month quarantine from Santa Barbara Orchid estate?
I realize this is not something anyone outside of Fl would deal with and so it is not likely there is a workaround but does anyone even know someone i can call there to ask about why and if i cant attest to waiving my rights etc?
one month is a long time to hold my plant and if i am getting one i'd probably get several so it was not lonely LOL
thanks in advance
Ordering from SBOE
Notice: Plant-orders to be shipped to Florida and Louisiana need to be held in quarantine for one month prior to shipment.
We request that you email, call, fax, or write to us with as much of the following information as possible so that we may process your order.

When you only get 0.9 hours of sleep per night a month passes before you notice!

Hahaha I don’t mind the wait but I feel like a ‘sold’ plant is less cared for and would suffer in a month.

They are extremely reputable. I wouldn't worry.

If memory serves correctly, this has to do with citrus psyllids; ie there are known populations of them in SoCal and both Florida & Louisiana require agricultural materials to be treated/free from infestation for import. I'll second what Estacion states though; everything that I've received from them is always top notch.

Cool. Given their reputation and the clear care they have I think I was wrong to assume they would just throw my plants in a quarantine bin and ignore them

Knowing the folks at SBOE, I'm sure they'll take proper care of the plants. They are very "by the book" on everything they do - many vendors cut legal corners, they don't.
