You just got a box with 60 orchids, you say? Wow, that would be total sensory overload here. I am anxiously awaiting a shipment of 3!

It was. I was SO happy they were labeled on the outside so I could immediately off load 20 and not freak out. (Then my turd neighbor didn’t follow through and I ended up with his 17 plants too)

I am still reeling hahaha. It was like a post orchid show rush

Update: My Dendrobium shipment arrived Saturday. Box was sitting in the snow on my stoop when I got home from the greenhouse.

Plants were fine though, very large and healthy. I had ordered two Den. loddigesii, which were large bushy plants with a lot of keikis (I mounted 8, and potted another 31).

If I came home to a box of orchids sitting in a snowbank Kim, I'd have a stroke.

Let me put it this way, I was NOT happy when I saw it.

In particular, since I have a large sign on the front door not to leave boxes with plants there (I want them by side door, more protected area).

However, plants were fine (incl. both Den. thyrsiflorum & Den. farmeri taller than I have ever seen them before), and that is all that matters.

I'm glad they made it OK. I got those two species also. I put them outside because we have cool nights but haven't had any risk of frost since they arrived. I'm hoping for flowers; the plants are certainly big enough.
