This is the eBay seller that i highlighted in this thread A rant

In summary, I received a different orchid to which I had purchased. The seller never accepted responsibility and went to extreme lengths to say it was my fault. They then list the orchid that I wrongly received having said they didn't stock it.

At the time I was looking for a positive ID for it and not a refund or replacement, although given their negative attitude I doubt they would have offered either.

I have bought from them before with no issue, other than that every orchid they list is prefixed "rare" no matter what it is.

I have decided not to use them again given the fact that they are just willing to admit let alone rectify mistakes.

Jc ..... we're with you!

If they happen to be selling the 'correct' plant now on ebay ----- and if that plant is currently in flower (with photos provided by the seller of the plant and its flower ------ that is 'currently' in flower, with accurate pics) ---- then I would take a punt and buy 1 more time. And if the orchid arrives with the 'wrong' flower ----- I'd 'negative feedback' them on ebay.

And as for the seller "Spicesotic-plants" ------ you messed with the wrong guy.

On the other hand - if that cultivar is sold by some other nursery too ----- then I'd definitely buy from those other nurseries that stock it.

Once again - we're with you on this one!

I'm a lot more selective about who I buy from now, especially on eBay. I've noticed that a lot of respected outfits sell tiny plants on eBay overpriced. If I see a listing with "rare" anywhere in it, that's red flag number one. Second red flag is if they sell tiny seedlings that look like they just got deflasked for normal orchid prices.

It's a good idea not to buy from them again. If they can't practice empathy, there are probably other hidden problems as well.

Good thing you brought that up, I was looking at their Vandopsis lissochiloides var. alba with a certain interest.

If you don't know him yet, Alexej Popow is a reputable eBay seller. He's pecialised in Paph and Phrag but sells pretty much everything, even house plants.
He sometimes sells incredibly rare orchids for a very fair price and is super reactive to messages.
This summer I asked for an item that he used to stock, he charged less than the regular price and sent it the day after.

I will also vouch for Popow - unfortunately, he only ships to the US from shows, and there haven't been any lately. But I have received outstanding plants from him. 100%. I found him slow to respond to emails, but top quality plants.I have ordered directly from his website. POPOW-ORCHIDS (English version) ( or "language =de" if you prefer... a few things didn't get translated on the English pages that are present on the German version)
